Business Resolution Workshop – start the New Year off right!

Business networking groups exist across Long Island and serve a variety of purposes:  some exist to widen the circle of people you know; some exist within a specific industry to share knowledge; and some range a cross-section of similar industries to enable you to grow your business.

However, the MacArthur Business Alliance believes that beyond the typical networking structure there is an opportunity to develop an even stronger network:  one that exists to foster deeper learning and broaden your exposure across a range of issues.

Last year, the MBA is offered a highly successful Business Resolution Workshop. Nineteen people joined together to explore issues that are relevant and impact their businesses on a daily basis. Strategic planning, holding yourself and your business accountable to goals, networking and life/work balance were discussed, offering attendees the opportunity to share their experiences while learning from others in the room.

The discussions among the group were thoughtful and insightful, and led easily into other topics and areas to explore. Many participants stated they would utilize some of the helpful ideas in their 2019 business plan.

Beyond widening the circle of people you know, strong networks make us smarter, more knowledgeable, and even more grounded. The MBA recognizes that oftentimes, those of us in business find ourselves in a place where talking to our peers – even from other industries – helps us resolve some of the minor (or major!) conflicts and issues that arise in our businesses on a regular basis.  Others may have gone through a similar issue before us and can offer insight into resolution of the problem at hand.

With this in mind, the 2020 Business Resolution Workshop will offer an intimate networking opportunity for members of the MBA to get together, enjoy a light breakfast, and discuss the issues that are impacting our individual businesses.  This Workshop will focus on New Year’s resolutions we establish for ourselves within the frame of our businesses: how and where can we improve this year? Discussion will be member-driven, so you are encouraged to bring your ideas and concerns to the table.
