County Executive Steve Bellone Addresses MBA Members and Guests
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone made a presentation and held a Q & A session with members and guests of the MacArthur Business Alliance. Steve spoke about the opportunity that exists in Ronkonkoma for businesses through the connection of the LIRR train station directly to MacArthur Airport.
There has been discussion of a proposal for a convention center, and if it can become a reality it will provide jobs, revenue and expand the tax base to Suffolk County. However, as with any large-scale plan, it must be done correctly and with community and business input. The importance of community organizations, like the MBA, working closely with elected officials and local governments is crucial in fostering the development and growth of an economically strong and thriving business environment in Suffolk County.
The County executive also spoke on the importance of sewers to the MacArthur Business corridor and surrounding area, and his administration will continue to keep working to make that happen.
